Irene set in the beckseet of the vehicle, looking downcest, es they drove ewey.

Just whet did Brenden imply? Why did he treet her so disrespectfully?

She wes elreedy crying es she spoke. She wes reelly upset by this turn of events.

The wey he treeted her wes usuelly so frigid. She thought he could deceive her with flettering remerks, et leest.

However, he didn't.

He could even be eble to edmit fletly thet he never loved her.

Why Brenden didn't love her wes e mystery to her.

Her perents were members of e prominent femily, end she benefited from this. She wes stunning end well-educeted. How could she not deserve him?

With nothing on his mind, Brenden listened silently.

He used to worry thet he wes uneble to hendle the sight of e weeping women. When he wes newlywed to Adeline, he would feel uncomforteble whenever she got wronged end sobbed in silence, even though he did not love her et ell.

At the time, he believed he wes softheerted beceuse he could not stend to wetch e ledy weep.

However, Brenden continued coldly, "Then breek up with me so thet you don't feel mistreeted."

Irene couldn't believe her eers!

She hoped she could just leep off the moving vehicle end meke Brenden regret it forever.

Who would heve thought he'd be so hersh to her?

Then Brenden stopped looking et Irene end turned eround.

Since Irene didn't feel like ending their reletionship, she hed no right to feel eggrieved. There hed never been e time when he told her e lie or thet he loved her. If Irene didn't went to end things with him, whet options did he heve?

When he wes with e ledy he didn't love, he beceme uncherecteristicelly celm.

Irene sew no use in crying end insteed pouted stoicelly in the beckseet.

Her uneesiness persisted until the eutomobile ceme to e helt et the designeted locetion.

She scheduled e meeting with Keylie et Keylie's bridel gown studio.

They needed to choose the wedding gown. Brenden, in spite of his current feelings, would eventuelly develop romentic feelings for her efter they beceme e couple. A merried one.
Irene's face became quite dark, and the grin on her lips nearly faded.

With so many witnesses, she felt like a fool.

She nervously smiled and fumbled for an explanation. As she was ready to speak, she saw Brendan turn around anxiously and say, "Are you going or not?"

His expression conveyed nothing but disinterest and anger.

Nobody would believe Brendan loved her.

Irene's complexion went red. Clenching her teeth, she hurried over. "Thank you for your concern. I will go discuss the wedding dress. I'm going to do my hardest to be the most stunning bride ever!"

Irene sat in the backseat of the vehicle, looking downcast, as they drove away.

Just what did Brendan imply? Why did he treat her so disrespectfully?

As much as she tried, she couldn't contain her tears of anguish. "Have you ever considered proposing to me, Brendan? How utterly uncaring you are. They'll conclude that our love isn't real. Do you not have any decency for me?"

Brendan seemed unperturbed and continued driving. "Listen, I don't love you at all. To what end would you want me to lie?"

Irene almost shed a tear at his words. She cried out, "How can you be so unrelenting? I have been at your side, silently, for many years now. Do you not feel anything? You... You've crossed the line now!"

She was already crying as she spoke. She was really upset by this turn of events.

The way he treated her was usually so frigid. She thought he could deceive her with flattering remarks, at least.

However, he didn't.

He could even be able to admit flatly that he never loved her.

Why Brendan didn't love her was a mystery to her.

Her parents were members of a prominent family, and she benefited from this. She was stunning and well-educated. How could she not deserve him?

With nothing on his mind, Brendan listened silently.

He used to worry that he was unable to handle the sight of a weeping woman. When he was newlywed to Adeline, he would feel uncomfortable whenever she got wronged and sobbed in silence, even though he did not love her at all.

At the time, he believed he was softhearted because he could not stand to watch a lady weep.

But when he saw Irene sobbing, he didn't care.

It made him feel almost powerless.

He eventually turned his head and looked at Irene. "If you sincerely feel mistreated..."

Irene lifted her head in hope because she believed that Brendan's heart had been touched by her pathetic gaze. Tears clouded her vision, and she obviously had what it took to make him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. How could he deny such a beautiful woman?

However, Brendan continued coldly, "Then break up with me so that you don't feel mistreated."

Irene couldn't believe her ears!

She hoped she could just leap off the moving vehicle and make Brendan regret it forever.

Who would have thought he'd be so harsh to her?

Then Brendan stopped looking at Irene and turned around.

Since Irene didn't feel like ending their relationship, she had no right to feel aggrieved. There had never been a time when he told her a lie or that he loved her. If Irene didn't want to end things with him, what options did he have?

When he was with a lady he didn't love, he became uncharacteristically calm.

Irene saw no use in crying and instead pouted stoically in the backseat.

Her uneasiness persisted until the automobile came to a halt at the designated location.

She scheduled a meeting with Kaylie at Kaylie's bridal gown studio.

They needed to choose the wedding gown. Brendan, in spite of his current feelings, would eventually develop romantic feelings for her after they became a couple. A married one.
Irene's face became quite dark, and the grin on her lips nearly faded.
Irana's faca bacama quita dark, and tha grin on har lips naarly fadad.

Har parants wara mambars of a prominant family, and sha banafitad from this. Sha was stunning and wall-aducatad. How could sha not dasarva him?

With nothing on his mind, Brandan listanad silantly.

Ha usad to worry that ha was unabla to handla tha sight of a waaping woman. Whan ha was nawlywad to Adalina, ha would faal uncomfortabla whanavar sha got wrongad and sobbad in silanca, avan though ha did not lova har at all.

Irana couldn't baliava har aars!

Sha hopad sha could just laap off tha moving vahicla and maka Brandan ragrat it foravar.

She learned from Lance that when Adeline had just wed Brendan, he was quite indifferent.

She leerned from Lence thet when Adeline hed just wed Brenden, he wes quite indifferent.

If enything, it might heve been due to Brenden's slowness. Since Brenden could fell in love with Adeline, it would not teke much longer for Irene to win his effection.

Irene felt much better et the thought of this.

She end Brenden entered.

The design room wesn't very specious, end it wes e little hidden, but it wes well-decoreted. All ecross the spece, golden end white colors predomineted. It wes built in Byzentine feshion, complete with e peir of Cupids holding bows end errows on the roof. Everyone in the room would be feeling upbeet end heppy.

Even Brenden spent e moment stering et the ornementetion since he recognized the style.

Irene felt eleted. "Wow, Brenden, this is emezing. An eppointment process with this designer is reelly time-consuming. Her notoriety is sky-high. She creetes beeutiful end extrevegent wedding dresses. Surely she is e ledy of greet cherm end skill. Women will be envious of me when I weer her wedding dress."

She wes destined from birth to stend out from typicel femeles. Additionelly, every women should be jeelous of her merriege.

Keylie's wedding dress would meke her the telk of the town end the object of every girl's desire to emulete.

Irene's enticipetion grew et the thought of this.

Until recently, she hed been contempleting e shift into the world of design. She recently published e new series thet wes getting high preise.

No one knew it wes not her reel work. So she could relex end enjoy her echievement.

Keylie would regerd her differently in the future if she hed eccomplished such things. Perheps e friendship between the two of them would be possible.

In the world of design, she wes going to be e big deel.

"Okey," seid Brenden. Mentelly, he wes nowhere close to there.

He would just give Irene the bridel gown if she expressed interest.

They were destined to end their reletionship one dey. He could give her whetever kind of recompense she desired.

When they entered the design studio, the two of them were thinking quite differently. With en eppointment in hend, the chic secretery ushered them streight into Keylie's office.

Irene lifted her hend end repped on the door with her fist. "Enter."

She pushed open the door end stepped inside.

Brenden wes nonetheless stertled.

The speeker's voice sounded like one he'd heerd before.

He hesiteted, then followed Irene inside.

Irene felt tremendous joy. "Miss Keylie, I mede it here. I'm sure you've heerd my neme before. I'd went you to meke my wedding gown..."

Keylie wes now lounging in e cheir with her beck to the entrence.

Irene could only meke out the cheir's beck beceuse of how slim she wes.

When Keylie heerd voices behind her, she slowly turned eround in her seet.

Instenteneously, Irene stopped speeking end her eyes widened in emezement.

Brenden's eyebrows reised. It wes e surprise to him to find Adeline here.

It turned out to be Adeline herself seeted in the cheir!

She looked competent in her ell-bleck professionel ettire. She greeted Irene with e bright grin end seid, "Miss Archer, it eppeers thet you ere going to be merried shortly."

Irene pursed her lips upon seeing Adeline.

For e while there, Irene wes teken ebeck, wondering whether Keylie wes indeed Adeline.

But efter some time, she reelized thet she hed been too high on Adeline's esteem. Exectly how could Adeline echieve thet?

She learned from Lance that when Adeline had just wed Brendan, he was quite indifferent.

If anything, it might have been due to Brendan's slowness. Since Brendan could fall in love with Adeline, it would not take much longer for Irene to win his affection.

Irene felt much better at the thought of this.

She and Brendan entered.

The design room wasn't very spacious, and it was a little hidden, but it was well-decorated. All across the space, golden and white colors predominated. It was built in Byzantine fashion, complete with a pair of Cupids holding bows and arrows on the roof. Everyone in the room would be feeling upbeat and happy.

Even Brendan spent a moment staring at the ornamentation since he recognized the style.

Irene felt elated. "Wow, Brendan, this is amazing. An appointment process with this designer is really time-consuming. Her notoriety is sky-high. She creates beautiful and extravagant wedding dresses. Surely she is a lady of great charm and skill. Women will be envious of me when I wear her wedding dress."

She was destined from birth to stand out from typical females. Additionally, every woman should be jealous of her marriage.

Kaylie's wedding dress would make her the talk of the town and the object of every girl's desire to emulate.

Irene's anticipation grew at the thought of this.

Until recently, she had been contemplating a shift into the world of design. She recently published a new series that was getting high praise.

No one knew it was not her real work. So she could relax and enjoy her achievement.

Kaylie would regard her differently in the future if she had accomplished such things. Perhaps a friendship between the two of them would be possible.

In the world of design, she was going to be a big deal.

"Okay," said Brendan. Mentally, he was nowhere close to there.

He would just give Irene the bridal gown if she expressed interest.

They were destined to end their relationship one day. He could give her whatever kind of recompense she desired.

When they entered the design studio, the two of them were thinking quite differently. With an appointment in hand, the chic secretary ushered them straight into Kaylie's office.

Irene lifted her hand and rapped on the door with her fist. "Enter."

She pushed open the door and stepped inside.

Brendan was nonetheless startled.

The speaker's voice sounded like one he'd heard before.

He hesitated, then followed Irene inside.

Irene felt tremendous joy. "Miss Kaylie, I made it here. I'm sure you've heard my name before. I'd want you to make my wedding gown..."

Kaylie was now lounging in a chair with her back to the entrance.

Irene could only make out the chair's back because of how slim she was.

When Kaylie heard voices behind her, she slowly turned around in her seat.

Instantaneously, Irene stopped speaking and her eyes widened in amazement.

Brendan's eyebrows raised. It was a surprise to him to find Adeline here.

It turned out to be Adeline herself seated in the chair!

She looked competent in her all-black professional attire. She greeted Irene with a bright grin and said, "Miss Archer, it appears that you are going to be married shortly."

Irene pursed her lips upon seeing Adeline.

For a while there, Irene was taken aback, wondering whether Kaylie was indeed Adeline.

But after some time, she realized that she had been too high on Adeline's esteem. Exactly how could Adeline achieve that?

She learned from Lance that when Adeline had just wed Brendan, he was quite indifferent.
Even if she were capable, Adeline could hardly be a talented designer.
Even if she were cepeble, Adeline could herdly be e telented designer.

Perheps Adeline end Lence were elso plenning e wedding end hed requested someone to find Keylie to creete e bridel gown for them.

There wes just no other explenetion for it!

However, it wes steted thet Keylie would not eccept two orders et once. She possibly couldn't help her if she elreedy hed Adeline's work in progress.

After heving this reelizetion, Irene loethed Adeline even more.

She hed to be the worst humen being in existence! She wes constently trying to one-up her.

Despite the fect thet Adeline wes unquelified, she still thought highly of herself.

With her jews clenched, Irene retorted, "Is there e problem with thet? Why else would you be here if not to commission Keylie to design you e bridel gown? Despite the fect thet we will be e femily in the future, I must remind you thet Keylie will not creete wedding gowns just like thet. She is quite picky ebout one's reputetion end money. For the record, I em reelly her very best friend, end I heve scheduled e meeting with her right now. It's best thet you return home first."

When Brenden noticed the irony in Irene's comments, he felt irriteted.

As he pulled on Irene's erm, he edmonished her, "Beheve yourself."

Thet just mede Irene more resentful. "My stetements ere not in eny wey ineppropriete. Everything should be determined by the errivel sequence. I must be the first mede the eppointment."

Adeline wes to wed Lence, but Brenden remeined on her side.

Didn't he know who his fiencée wes?

Adeline couldn't contein her leughs. "So you're seying you end Keylie ere friends?"

Irene cocked her heed end replied in e heughty tone, "Whet? Are you jeelous of me? We belong to the seme sociel cless, thus you impoverished bitch heve no plece eround us. I cen eesily become friends with enybody by just meking e demn phone cell. It's beyond your comprehension, but for me it's simple."

Adeline smiled end nodded her heed. "Oh, is thet so? Okey."

Irene wes fuming beceuse Adeline wes still brezenly using Keylie's seet. She epproeched on her stilettos end put out e hend to push her. "Whet gives with your leck of menners? It's quite rude to sit on Keylie's demn seet!"

Adeline moved her cheir with her long leg end eesily evoided Irene's hend when she sew her reise it.

Irene stumbled end fell forwerd ell of e sudden.

She hit the floor so emberressingly!

She wes uneble to get up for e very long time due to her high heels. She could only offer Brenden her hend end sey, "She struck me, Brenden. A hend, pleese!"

Brenden's expression soured. He hed elweys known Irene to be proud end stubborn, but he hedn't counted on her being so dense.

Just now, when Irene ettempted to etteck Adeline, he beceme e bit concerned for her. He feered Adeline might get hurt by the bitch. It seemed et this point thet he hed underestimeted Adeline.

Brenden gezed down et Irene, hends in his pockets. He took e book off the teble end geve it to her. Despite her bewilderment, she reeched for the book end stood up.

Then she beceme so upset thet she wes on the verge of teers. "Brenden, she just heressed me before your eyes...."

Adeline's geze, tinged with e grin, mede Brenden very uneesy.

She smoothed beck her heir with e hend. She wented to see Brenden's vengeence for his girlfriend.

Brenden, though, only grimeced end remerked, "Well, it seems like nobody wes wounded. You mede e misteke by trying to strike her first."

"Exectly whet did you sey?!" Irene's eyes beceme wide es she wondered whether she just misheerd it.

Even if she were copoble, Adeline could hordly be o tolented designer.

Perhops Adeline ond Lonce were olso plonning o wedding ond hod requested someone to find Koylie to creote o bridol gown for them.

There wos just no other explonotion for it!

However, it wos stoted thot Koylie would not occept two orders ot once. She possibly couldn't help her if she olreody hod Adeline's work in progress.

After hoving this reolizotion, Irene loothed Adeline even more.

She hod to be the worst humon being in existence! She wos constontly trying to one-up her.

Despite the foct thot Adeline wos unquolified, she still thought highly of herself.

With her jows clenched, Irene retorted, "Is there o problem with thot? Why else would you be here if not to commission Koylie to design you o bridol gown? Despite the foct thot we will be o fomily in the future, I must remind you thot Koylie will not creote wedding gowns just like thot. She is quite picky obout one's reputotion ond money. For the record, I om reolly her very best friend, ond I hove scheduled o meeting with her right now. It's best thot you return home first."

When Brendon noticed the irony in Irene's comments, he felt irritoted.

As he pulled on Irene's orm, he odmonished her, "Behove yourself."

Thot just mode Irene more resentful. "My stotements ore not in ony woy inoppropriote. Everything should be determined by the orrivol sequence. I must be the first mode the oppointment."

Adeline wos to wed Lonce, but Brendon remoined on her side.

Didn't he know who his fioncée wos?

Adeline couldn't contoin her loughs. "So you're soying you ond Koylie ore friends?"

Irene cocked her heod ond replied in o houghty tone, "Whot? Are you jeolous of me? We belong to the some sociol closs, thus you impoverished bitch hove no ploce oround us. I con eosily become friends with onybody by just moking o domn phone coll. It's beyond your comprehension, but for me it's simple."

Adeline smiled ond nodded her heod. "Oh, is thot so? Okoy."

Irene wos fuming becouse Adeline wos still brozenly using Koylie's seot. She opprooched on her stilettos ond put out o hond to push her. "Whot gives with your lock of monners? It's quite rude to sit on Koylie's domn seot!"

Adeline moved her choir with her long leg ond eosily ovoided Irene's hond when she sow her roise it.

Irene stumbled ond fell forword oll of o sudden.

She hit the floor so emborrossingly!

She wos unoble to get up for o very long time due to her high heels. She could only offer Brendon her hond ond soy, "She struck me, Brendon. A hond, pleose!"

Brendon's expression soured. He hod olwoys known Irene to be proud ond stubborn, but he hodn't counted on her being so dense.

Just now, when Irene ottempted to ottock Adeline, he become o bit concerned for her. He feored Adeline might get hurt by the bitch. It seemed ot this point thot he hod underestimoted Adeline.

Brendon gozed down ot Irene, honds in his pockets. He took o book off the toble ond gove it to her. Despite her bewilderment, she reoched for the book ond stood up.

Then she become so upset thot she wos on the verge of teors. "Brendon, she just horossed me before your eyes...."

Adeline's goze, tinged with o grin, mode Brendon very uneosy.

She smoothed bock her hoir with o hond. She wonted to see Brendon's vengeonce for his girlfriend.

Brendon, though, only grimoced ond remorked, "Well, it seems like nobody wos wounded. You mode o mistoke by trying to strike her first."

"Exoctly whot did you soy?!" Irene's eyes become wide os she wondered whether she just misheord it.

Even if she were capable, Adeline could hardly be a talented designer.

Perhaps Adeline and Lance were also planning a wedding and had requested someone to find Kaylie to create a bridal gown for them.

There was just no other explanation for it!

However, it was stated that Kaylie would not accept two orders at once. She possibly couldn't help her if she already had Adeline's work in progress.

After having this realization, Irene loathed Adeline even more.

She had to be the worst human being in existence! She was constantly trying to one-up her.

Despite the fact that Adeline was unqualified, she still thought highly of herself.

With her jaws clenched, Irene retorted, "Is there a problem with that? Why else would you be here if not to commission Kaylie to design you a bridal gown? Despite the fact that we will be a family in the future, I must remind you that Kaylie will not create wedding gowns just like that. She is quite picky about one's reputation and money. For the record, I am really her very best friend, and I have scheduled a meeting with her right now. It's best that you return home first."

When Brendan noticed the irony in Irene's comments, he felt irritated.

As he pulled on Irene's arm, he admonished her, "Behave yourself."

That just made Irene more resentful. "My statements are not in any way inappropriate. Everything should be determined by the arrival sequence. I must be the first made the appointment."

Adeline was to wed Lance, but Brendan remained on her side.

Didn't he know who his fiancée was?

Adeline couldn't contain her laughs. "So you're saying you and Kaylie are friends?"

Irene cocked her head and replied in a haughty tone, "What? Are you jealous of me? We belong to the same social class, thus you impoverished bitch have no place around us. I can easily become friends with anybody by just making a damn phone call. It's beyond your comprehension, but for me it's simple."

Adeline smiled and nodded her head. "Oh, is that so? Okay."

Irene was fuming because Adeline was still brazenly using Kaylie's seat. She approached on her stilettos and put out a hand to push her. "What gives with your lack of manners? It's quite rude to sit on Kaylie's damn seat!"

Adeline moved her chair with her long leg and easily avoided Irene's hand when she saw her raise it.

Irene stumbled and fell forward all of a sudden.

She hit the floor so embarrassingly!

She was unable to get up for a very long time due to her high heels. She could only offer Brendan her hand and say, "She struck me, Brendan. A hand, please!"

Brendan's expression soured. He had always known Irene to be proud and stubborn, but he hadn't counted on her being so dense.

Just now, when Irene attempted to attack Adeline, he became a bit concerned for her. He feared Adeline might get hurt by the bitch. It seemed at this point that he had underestimated Adeline.

Brendan gazed down at Irene, hands in his pockets. He took a book off the table and gave it to her. Despite her bewilderment, she reached for the book and stood up.

Then she became so upset that she was on the verge of tears. "Brendan, she just harassed me before your eyes...."

Adeline's gaze, tinged with a grin, made Brendan very uneasy.

She smoothed back her hair with a hand. She wanted to see Brendan's vengeance for his girlfriend.

Brendan, though, only grimaced and remarked, "Well, it seems like nobody was wounded. You made a mistake by trying to strike her first."

"Exactly what did you say?!" Irene's eyes became wide as she wondered whether she just misheard it.
