Back when he was alive, Lance cared about his grandfather the most. I just want to be here to accompany Grandpa and take care of him for Lance, but I didn't expect that Adeline would hate me this much. If my being here bothers her, I should just leave."
Before Brendan could get a word in, Rex began scolding Adeline.
"Why are you so rude, Adeline? Tiffany is still grieving over Lance's death, and you're bullying her already? She's very vulnerable right now. How could you be such a jerk?"

"I told you that I didn't push her, Brendan. I'm not going to apologize for something I didn't do!" Adeline clenched her fists and spoke in a loud voice.
Tiffany immediately tried to pretend to defend her.
"Brendan, please don't punish Adeline for this. I don't need her to apologize. It's all my fault." She made herself sound like she was very sad about this. "All I hope is that she lets me stay here."
Rex almost exploded when he noticed how Tiffany swallowed the insult.
"Tiffany, you don't need to take that crap from her. Adeline should apologize for pushing you!" He roared, "Adeline apologize at once! You think I won't hit you just because you're a woman? Huh?"
Adeline acted like she didn't hear him and just focused her eyes on Brendan.
He was staring right back at her, and his face remained the same.
Did he really believe that she pushed Tiffany?
While no one was looking at her, Tiffany smirked at Adeline.
Everyone was taking her side. Her plan worked!
Adeline shot everyone a cold glance.
This was becoming exhausting for her, but it wasn't the first time that she had felt this exhausted.
After marrying Brendan, she had experienced all sorts of mental fatigue for so many times.
"I won't apologize for things I didn't do." Adeline remained adamant in her opinions, and she attempted to leave right away.
However, Brendan grabbed her hand.
"You can't leave until you apologize!"
Adeline didn't respond at first. She then noticed the triumphant smirk on Tiffany's face. She put on a smile and nodded. "You want me to apologize? Fine, I'll do that right now."
Upon hearing her response, Tiffany felt proud of herself.
She immediately lowered her head to avoid eye contact with the others, while Adeline approached her.
Tiffany was ready to hear Adeline's apology.
But to her dismay, Adeline slapped her across the face.
"Eek!" Tiffany covered her face with her hand, glaring at Adeline. "How dare you hit me?"
Both Brendan and Rex were shocked to see what happened. They hurried to Tiffany's side and checked on her.
As his chest heaved up and down, Brendan asked, "Are you insane, Adeline?"
"You want me to apologize? I didn't push her, so why do I have to apologize for that? Now I hit her, but no, I still don't want to say I'm sorry because I'm really not." Adeline raised her chin proudly. "She's the one talking smack about me first. Since her parents failed to teach her about honesty, I'll teach her in their stead."
"You are so damn arrogant!" Rex raised his hand, ready to hit Adeline.
It was way too close for her to dodge in time.
She braced herself and didn't think of anything else at this moment.
Just then, Gerard stopped them and sternly remarked, "What the hell are you people doing so early in the morning? Why are you so noisy?"
The private doctor wheeled Gerard over. The old man glanced at the people standing before him, and then greeted Rex with a nod.
In all honesty, Rex wanted to tear Adeline into pieces, but he had to suppress his anger in front of Gerard. Thereafter, he put his hand down reluctantly.
"Hello, Mr. Clemons. I came here to see you!"
Meanwhile, Tiffany was standing aside and sobbing. She was covering her face, so she had to peek through her fingers to see the old man. However, she didn't dare say a word.
From where Brendan was standing, it probably did seem like she pushed Tiffany.
